11 a.m.: A bell calls the community for silent sitting meditation.
11:30 a.m.: Silent walking meditation outside in Japanese garden.
11:50 a.m.: Reading precepts and mindful partaking of tea and small snack.
12 p.m.: Dharma inquiry.
1 p.m.: Closing bell.

Monthly pitch-in

First Sunday of each month: vegetarian pitch-in lunch follows closing bell.

About the Dharma inquiry

Members take turns offering a topic for inquiry. Some recent topics have included listening, labyrinth meditation, dealing with anger, social justice. To remind each other of the commitment to mindful speaking and listening, members recognize each other by bowing before and after each person shares.

Zen is not some fancy, special art of living. Our teaching is just to live, always in reality, in its exact sense. (Shunryu Suzuki, author of Zen Mind, Beginners Mind)
